History/Origin
Records have it the the Smooth Fox Terrier descended from various lineages such as Bull Terrier, smooth-coated Tan and Black Terrier, Beagle, and Greyhound. For the most part, its ancestors came from England, specifically Shropshire and Cheshire. It is bred during the 1860's and is often regarded as vermin hunter, thus it is constantly treated for this purpose.

There was an instance when the Smooth Fox Terrier shared the similar conformation with and was recognized also as Wire Fox Terrier. However, it was given separate, rightful recognition in 1984 by the renowned Kennel club of America.

Description
The Smooth Fox Terrier would somehow remind you of Milo, the cute little dog in the movie 'The Mask'. It is a short, small white dog with black and dark brown spots in its fur coats. Its small head comprises of small, deep dark brown eyes that are often extremely lively and intelligent. Its ears are not erect but are folded halfway forward to its head, which resemble the folded corner pages of a book. Also, this breed looks quite comical since a fourth part of its tail is normally cut, thus making the dog's tail stand upright rather than hanging low at its behind. But what's amazing with this terrier is even if it's just a small toy-like kind of dog, it still possess muscular build as shown by its thick and well-toned neck, jaws, body, legs, and feet.

Temperament
The Smooth Fox Terrier is always ready to fight crime in a cute, cheerful funny way. In actuality, it is usually bold, smart, and cheerful and even executes stunts in a lucrative, yet stylish manner. Its performance is what makes it irresistible and well-loved by the public. Though the Smooth Fox Terrier is very playful, it is also apt to roam and explore around its territory that sometimes it is deemed to get lost because of its innate curiosity in discovering the area near its abode.

Loyal and devoted as it may seem, this dog sometimes don't have control over its muscular powers, which often leads it to trouble. It is imperative that this dog be given sufficient training and attention not only in its early stages but all throughout its life span.
