Australian Cattle Dog
History/Origin The problem that ensued on all earlier experiments was that poor breed outcomes resulted to dogs that refuse to do the herding job. Even earlier pet dogs brought by the pioneering inhabitants from the Western world, easily succumbed to tropical Australian climates, and breeding failed beforehand. The modern Australian Cattle Dog is a cross-breed of a maelstrom of canine dogs including the Russian Poodle, Bull Terrier, Collie, and Kangaroo dog. Description The Australian Cattle Dog is generally color blue, having ginger feet with abundant ginger markings on its legs. Some types of this dog possesses white marks on the middle of its forehead that commonly measures about two centimeters by seven centimeters. A healthy female usually measures roughly up to 19 inches. On the other hand, the male measures up 20 inches. An Australian Cattle Dog has well-toned muscles and has dense coats. Its tail is typically long with a petite whitish tip. An Australian Cattle dog that is given enough food and plenty of exercise weighs up to 50 pounds. Temperament Aside from being a vigorous animal, this dog is cautious by nature; and this characteristic makes it a very ideal guard and companion dog. The negative aspect of this dog is its weird affection for shredding and ripping things like fabrics, upholstery, garments, and other materials used for bedding. |
